Task description
The Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) is to become the largest in Russia and one of the largest natural gas processing enterprises in the world. Yamata Yatirim has been awarded a contract for the construction of temporary facilities for this project and related infrastructure to bring this vision to life.
Expensive construction equipment, tools and materials had to be protected from the harsh climate and sheltered throughout the entire life cycle of the project. Hazardous chemicals in the construction industry combined with moisture meant that metal frame structures were subject to erosion and rust. Having experienced such damage in hangars with a metal frame in the past, Yamata Yatirim wanted to avoid repeating past problems. In addition, traditional temporary structures are slow in production and installation, as well as expensive in transportation.
Solution
Fast delivery and installation of hangars were indispensable for the success of this contract. Angarstroy supplied Yamata with three identical shelters 15 meters wide and 25 meters long (375 sqm) in 50 days.
The scope of supply of hangars included LED lighting, remotely accessible telematics systems and an electric winch system for the front and rear gates (6 meters).
The light and compact nature of the hangars allowed for express delivery on regular passenger flights. Since the inflatable structures of Angarstroy do not need a foundation and are therefore considered temporary, the hangars were installed without any construction permits. Installation was quick and did not require the use of special tools.
